Sexuality is about your sexual feelings and thoughts. This includes your sexual orientation – who you fancy and who you want to have sex or a relationship with.

You might know who you’re attracted to from a young age. Or you might take some time to figure it out. Your sexual orientation can also change over time.

There are lots of ways to describe your sexual orientation. This includes gay, straight, bi, pan or asexual. You may choose not to label it at all. The key thing is to be happy with who you have sex and relationships with.

Gender identity means how you see your gender. This can differ from the sex you were assigned at birth.

You may have always felt comfortable with the sex you were assigned at birth, or you may have felt that your gender was different, from an early age. Your gender identity could still be developing.
