The C-Scheme Registration Training on 19 March 2025 - 1pm to 4pm has been cancelled.

The Derbyshire Sexual Health Promotion team offers training on our free condom schemes and hosts twice-yearly network events for people working within sexual health.

Multi-agency C-Scheme registration training

A half-day introduction for professionals who work with young people aged 13-24 and plan to offer free condoms and lube through our C-Scheme. 

This training can provide you with the skills and tools to register young people and issue condoms. It will also enhance your professional skills and confidence in dealing with sexual health issues at work.

All training is delivered online through Microsoft Teams.

Condoms at Lunch

‘Condoms at Lunch’ is an informal drop in session for you to access help, advice and support with the HUB and for you to network, link-in and chat with the sexual health promotion team and each other. Please feel free to drop in to the sessions anytime between 12pm and 1pm.

 

All training will be carried out via Microsoft Teams.

 

Multiagency C-Scheme update training

If you’ve been to our registration training and need a refresh, this 90-minute training course is for you. It’s designed for those who already offer free condoms and lube to young people via C-Scheme.

About the Derbyshire Sexual Health Network

The Derbyshire sexual health networking events are hosted by Derbyshire Integrated Sexual Health Services and are for professionals working in Derbyshire and Derby.

They offer an opportunity to learn and share knowledge, ideas and good practice with other people working in sexual health and related fields.

The Derbyshire Sexual Health Promotion Team offers free, year-round training for organisations in Derby and Derbyshire that work with adults or young people.

Our training is designed to increase staff confidence in discussing sexual health with service users and improve their ability to refer to relevant services.

All our training is free and we provide both online and face-to-face training options, including in-house training upon request.

Sexual Health… It Does Matter – Breaking Down Barriers

This half-day course covers:

  • Understanding sexual health and its importance.
  • Defining good sexual health.
  • Identifying sexual health inequalities and barriers, and their impact on the people we support.
  • Effective referral to sexual health services.

Sexual health & young people online workshop – promoting positive choices

This workshop is free for all staff and volunteers working with young people in Derbyshire and Derby City where an understanding of sexual health would be beneficial including how to support and promote access to sexual health services.

On completion of this workshop attendees will have:

  • Increased knowledge and understanding of sexual health and young people.
  • An understanding of the impact of poor sexual health both physically and emotionally and to consider what the challenges and barriers are that young people may face.
  • Increased confidence in understanding the risks around STI’s and contraception choices and how to promote positive health messages to empower young people to be informed.<
  • To consider how you can create a positive environment within your organisation for your young people and how you can link into the sexual health promotion team to help support this moving forward.
