Our aim is to help people in Derby and Derbyshire to take control of their sexual and reproductive health. That includes young people.

If you’re a sexual health professional, we can help you in your work with teens. As well as pregnancy prevention and support services, there’s advice across our website. This includes advice about having sex for the first time and consent. They can also get one-to-one support with any sexual health issues from one of our sexual health promotion practitioners

Children aged 13 to 15 will have a safeguarding check with a trained worker before we can help them. If a child is 12 or under and tells us they’ve had sex we will refer this to our specialist safeguarding team.

We offer services online, in our clinics and through community outreach, to give people better access to free sexual healthcare, which includes pregnancy prevention. You can get involved in some of our schemes or signpost young people to them.

Free condom schemes

Accessible collection points in the community help break down the barriers that prevent people having safe sex. We also give out free condoms to venues across Derbyshire, such as youth clubs, and community and faith centres.

Free and emergency contraception

Anyone living in Derby and Derbyshire can access free contraception and emergency contraception. Young people can access this online, or at one of our clinics. The exact approach will depend on their age.

Outreach van

Our outreach van acts as a mobile clinic so that more people in the community can access our services. It can help young people who might not be able to get to our static clinics.

Training

We can help you talk to teens about their sexual health and wellbeing. This includes supplying free condoms and advising about pregnancy and STIs.

Anyone who has an unplanned pregnancy can come to us for free, confidential advice and support. That includes teenagers. We will talk through all their options with zero judgement or pressure.
